Dominion Energy Offers Energy Assistance as Summer Temperatures Soar

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program Funding Available

CAYCE, S.C. (Aug. 7, 2023) – As summer temperatures continue to rise, Dominion Energy is encouraging customers who may be struggling financially to reach out for energy assistance funding available through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

“Lingering summer temperatures and high humidity can have a significant impact on our customers’ monthly energy bills,” said Sam Dozier, general manager of customer service at Dominion Energy South Carolina. “We want to remind our customers to contact us regarding assistance funding, which is available through LIHEAP, as well as the other payment plans and assistance options we offer year-round.”

August is LIHEAP Action Month, an opportunity to highlight the federally funded program that provides qualified customers with bill payment and energy assistance options. In 2022, more than 85,000 Dominion Energy customers received approximately $40 million in energy assistance through LIHEAP and other agency utility bill assistance programs.

To apply, Dominion Energy electric and natural gas customers must contact their local community action agency. Go to DominionEnergySC.com/assistance for a complete list of community action agencies by county.

Customers may also be eligible for EnergyShare, a company-funded, year-round program that provides energy assistance to income-eligible, elderly or disabled customers.

Customers can review a variety of payment plans and assistance options by accessing their account online or through Dominion Energy mobile app.
