Dominion Energy Reminds Customers of Available Energy Assistance

CAYCE, S.C. (Feb. 13, 2024) – Dominion Energy representatives attended an event last week on Capitol Hill to raise awareness about the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, which helps eligible customers with their energy costs through federal funding.

Hosted by the National Energy & Utility Affordability Coalition, LIHEAP Action Day allows utilities and human service organizations to mobilize support for LIHEAP by visiting with elected officials who represent their communities.

"We understand the cost of utility bills can impact vulnerable households and we want our customers to know we’re here to help,” said Sam Dozier, general manager of customer service at Dominion Energy. "Last year, thousands of Dominion Energy South Carolina customers received LIHEAP assistance. We encourage customers facing hardships to reach out to us so we can connect them with programs like LIHEAP and other resources.”

To learn more about LIHEAP or to apply, customers should contact their local community action agency. A comprehensive list of agencies and information about other available assistance programs can be found at DominionEnergySC.com/assistance.

EnergyShare: EnergyShare is funded with company contributions, along with donations from customers, employees and retirees. The South Carolina Department of Administration’s Office of Economic Opportunity administers the program through community action agencies.

Payment plans: If a customer is having trouble paying their bill, Dominion Energy will help them determine the best option for their unique situation. Both short-term payment extensions and long-term payment plans are available.
