CAYCE, S.C., July 29, 2020 – Dominion Energy South Carolina’s residential electric service customers can schedule a free, no-contact pickup of their old, unused or unwanted, secondary refrigerators and freezers. Appliances collected are recycled through the company’s appliance recycling program.

“Keeping our customers safe is our priority, and we are happy to continue offering this program while practicing social distancing,” said Josh McMillin, program manager. “Replacing older appliances with newer, more energy efficient units is a great way for customers to reduce energy usage, and participating in the program is easy. Customers simply schedule a pickup and leave their eligible unit outside of the home. Our representatives will handle the rest.”

Now through Sept. 15, customers have a chance to win one of five Smart Home Prize Packs when they schedule a free, no-contact appliance recycling pickup that meets program eligibility.

The Smart Home Prize Pack is valued at $370 and includes:

• A smart thermostat
• A smart speaker
• Two smart plugs
• An advanced power strip
• Eight LED smart light bulbs
• Two on/off outlet switches

Residential electric customers who schedule an eligible appliance pickup through Sept. 15 and meet the program eligibility will automatically be entered for a chance to win a prize pack. Additionally, all customers who recycle an eligible appliance will receive $50 cash back per unit for up to two eligible appliances. Customers who participate in the program could save up to $105 annually on their energy bills. An eligible unit must be full-sized and in working condition.
