West Ashley Tree Trimming Workshop Feb. 27

Charleston, S.C., February 25, 2020 - As part of its five-year cycle to maintain public safety and electric system reliability, Dominion Energy South Carolina will begin pruning trees across portions of West Ashley next month. The company will host an informative drop-in workshop on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 5-7 p.m. at The Reserve Community Room at Citadel Mall.

Representatives from Dominion Energy and the City of Charleston, as well as the contractors scheduled to perform the work, will be on hand to answer questions, discuss safety, reliability, proper pruning methods and more. The room will be set up with informational stations so interested residents may drop in at their convenience any time from 5-7 p.m.

This will be the last of three public workshops related to this project, which includes trimming trees along approximately 150 miles of overhead distribution lines across parts of Ravenel, Hollywood, Redtop, the City of Charleston, Charleston County and the St. Andrews Public Service District. Work is set to begin next month and continue through 2020. Property owners will be notified by mail or email approximately two weeks prior to the start of trimming in their area.

To help residents better understand the scope of the project, oversized maps featuring the areas where trimming is planned will also be on display.

Residents can quickly access the community room by entering Citadel Mall through the Food Court or Belk. Anyone unable to attend the meeting can call 800-251-7234 with questions about tree trimming, or visit dominionenergysc.com/treetrimming to learn more.
