This program is great for our customers and the environment. Many customers are looking for an easy way to recycle their old appliance after upgrading. This program makes it as simple as possible.
CAYCE, S.C. – Dominion Energy's appliance recycling program is increasing incentives for eligible participants for a limited time. Residential electric customers can dispose of their old, unwanted secondary refrigerators and freezers through the easy, free and environmentally friendly program.
Customers who call or submit an online request through April 30 to schedule a pickup to occur no later than May 31 can receive $75 cash back. The rebate is an increase from the program’s regular $50 cash back. Customers and appliances must meet program eligibility.
“This program is great for our customers and the environment,” said Josh McMillin, program manager. “Many customers are looking for an easy way to recycle their old appliance after upgrading. This program makes it as simple as possible. Once a customer schedules a pickup, our representatives will handle the rest.”’
The company partners with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Responsible Appliance Disposal program to follow the best practices available. Recycling just one refrigerator keeps over 150 pounds of material out of the waste stream and prevents ozone-depleting substances from being released into the environment.
Customers who participate in the program could save up to $110 annually on their energy bills. Units must be full-sized and in working condition. For more information about program eligibility and rules, and to schedule a free, no contact pickup, call 1-877-510-7234 or visit DominionEnergySC.com/CashBack.
