Watch: Leading the Way on Offshore Wind
Dominion Energy's two pilot offshore wind turbines

Dominion Energy is leading the way on offshore wind. The company’s two-turbine, 12-megawatt Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) pilot project is the first operational wind farm in federal waters. At the same time, the 2.6-gigawatt CVOW commercial project is currently the largest offshore wind project currently under development in the United States. Once complete in 2026, CVOW will generate enough clean, renewable energy to power up to 660,000 of our customers’ homes across Virginia.

To show how Dominion Energy established the blueprint to install offshore wind turbines along the East Coast, we invited NBC News correspondent Kerry Sanders to visit the turbines. Kerry spoke with Bob Blue, Dominion Energy Chair, President and CEO; and Diego Tapias, Offshore Wind Business Performance Analyst, to learn more about CVOW.
