We have doubled our contribution to our Heat Care Fund this year in recognition of our 40-year partnership with the Salvation Army and the need in our communities.
GASTONIA, N.C. – Dominion Energy is increasing funding for its energy assistance program and is encouraging customers to reach out for help with bill payment concerns.
“Many North Carolinians will struggle to stay warm this heating season and through the Heat Care Fund, those in need will feel the comfort and warmth of knowing that others care,” said Rusty Harris, Vice President and General Manager of Dominion Energy’s natural gas business in North Carolina. “We have doubled our contribution to our Heat Care Fund this year in recognition of our 40-year partnership with the Salvation Army and the need in our communities.”
Those seeking assistance through the Heat Care Fund can connect with their local Salvation Army office. All funds are administered by The Salvation Army and go directly to those in need. Since the beginning of the Heat Care Fund, The Salvation Army has received and disbursed over $4 million thanks to company, employee and customer contributions.
Dominion Energy also works with more than 90 local assistance agencies, as well as LIEAP, a federally funded program. Many payment and assistance options can be accessed 24/7 through a customer’s online account or the Dominion Energy app. A list of the assistance agencies Dominion Energy works with to help customers is available.
