21 Organizations, 1 Day: Dominion Volunteers Helping Veterans

• Dominion Foundation awards $21,000 to organizations that assist veterans

RICHMOND, Va. – More than 350 Dominion employees in eight states and Washington, D.C., will set aside Wednesday, May 22, to volunteer their time and skills to 21 nonprofit organizations that serve active military, veterans and their spouses and children.

Volunteers will work on projects in Connecticut, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. Activities include making repairs and improvements at the homes of disabled veterans; landscaping and planting vegetable gardens; and serving as escorts to 100 veterans visiting WWII Memorial Washington,D.C.

The Dominion Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dominion, will provide $1,000 grants to each of the 21 nonprofit organizations including Operation Stand Down in Ohio, Virginia Supportive Housing, Feed Our Vets in New York, and a Disabled American Veterans chapter in West Virginia.
