CAYCE, S.C. (Aug. 4, 2025) – Dominion Energy is urging customers facing financial hardship to explore energy assistance options available through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
“The combination of hot summer weather and high humidity can really drive up monthly energy bills,” said Sam Dozier, general manager of customer service at Dominion Energy South Carolina. “We encourage our customers to reach out to us for help. Support is available through LIHEAP and other payment plans and assistance programs we offer throughout the year.”
August is LIHEAP Action Month, an opportunity to highlight the federally funded program that provides qualified customers with bill payment and energy assistance options. In 2024, more than 66,000 Dominion Energy customers received approximately $18 million through LIHEAP and other agency utility bill assistance programs.
To apply, Dominion Energy electric and natural gas customers must contact their local community action agency. Go to DominionEnergySC.com/assistance for a complete list of community action agencies by county.
Customers may also be eligible for EnergyShare, a company-funded, year-round program that provides energy assistance to income-eligible, elderly or disabled customers.
Customers can review a variety of payment plans and assistance options by accessing their account online or through Dominion Energy mobile app.
