CAYCE, S.C. (Feb. 26, 2026) – Dominion Energy representatives and community partners met with elected officials in the nation’s capital to advocate for continued federal funding for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, which provides critical financial support for eligible customers with energy costs.

Joe Wilson; Francine Heyward, customer outreach assistant; and Deanna Robinson Miller, customer outreach assistant, meet in Washington, D.C., to advocate for continued federal funding for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
LIHEAP Action Day, hosted annually by the National Energy & Utility Affordability Coalition, provides an opportunity for utilities and human service organizations to spotlight programs that help income-eligible households manage energy costs and provide support for vulnerable customers, including during a crisis.
“We recognize that energy costs can place a real strain on many households, especially during cold winters like we’ve experienced this year,” said Kaytee Watson, manager of customer assistance at Dominion Energy South Carolina. “We want our customers to know they don’t have to navigate those challenges alone. Last year, we were able to connect thousands of our customers in South Carolina with a variety of assistance programs like LIHEAP. Continued funding is critical to ensure customers facing financial hardship have access to the assistance they need.”
Customers seeking assistance can contact their local community action agency to learn more about LIHEAP eligibility and applications. Additional information about energy assistance options is available at DominionEnergySC.com/assistance, including information about the following programs:
- EnergyShare: A program funded through company contributions as well as donations from customers and employees. It is administered by the South Carolina Department of Administration’s Office of Economic Opportunity through community action agencies.
- Payment plans: Dominion Energy works directly with customers to find manageable payment solutions for their circumstances, including extensions and long-term payment plans.
In 2025, more than 71,000 Dominion Energy customers in South Carolina received energy assistance through LIHEAP, EnergyShare and other agency utility bill assistance programs.
