CAYCE, S.C. (June 8, 2026) – Dominion Energy customers in St. Matthews recently attended a kickoff event for the Neighborhood Energy Efficiency Program (NEEP). They are among approximately 1,000 customers in the area who are eligible for free energy-saving products and services through NEEP, which offers home assessments, on-site education and installation of energy-efficient products to income-eligible customers.
Customers began receiving information on how to participate in May, with installations in homes beginning in June and continuing through August. Dominion Energy representatives will complete installations at no cost.
“Our goal is to connect with communities throughout our service territory by delivering education and products that empower customers to make changes that reduce their long-term energy use,” said Derek McDaniel, program manager. “The NEEP program makes energy efficiency more accessible by providing energy assessments and weatherization upgrades at no cost to participants.”
Energy-saving products available to program-eligible residential customers include the following:
- LED light bulbs
- Faucet aerators and low-flow shower heads
- Electric water heater wraps and pipe insulation
- Advanced smart power strips
- Door sweeps and weatherstripping for doors and windows
- HVAC air filter replacement
- Digital wall thermometers
In addition to NEEP, customers had the opportunity to talk in person with a Dominion Energy customer assistance representative and learn about the company’s available programs and resources.
Since its launch in 2013, NEEP has helped Dominion Energy customers across the state reduce electricity usage through direct-install improvements and energy education. Over the past decade, customers have saved enough electricity to power approximately 112,000 homes for a year.
